No saddle, no bridle...ok a halter! Just me on foot and my horses hiking around pasture and soon other places. One of my horses loves doing this with me. We used to do this all the time. Loves to explore and nibbling grass and other plants. This is where he just loves being with me. Just walking, exploring and eating grass. I am glad we are getting back to it. My other horse is still on rest. He suffered laminitis this fall. Found out he has PPID which increased his insulin. He was just IR though it my belief that he had PPID all along. PPID symptoms are really was what prompted me to have him tested years ago. He is walking better. I enlisted the help of another trimmer to help me since physically I am unable. She has been wonderful. Once he is healed totally and is able, he will be hiking too!

It has been a slow last 10 months...for many reasons. Lots has happened in life so walking with my horses have been mostly just me being with my one horse in the pasture while he grazes. Over the last month, I have been bringing my other horse out for 15 minutes. It has been really nice especially now that the weather has gotten cooler. What I do know that it is hard to do everything and write about it in a blog post. So I am not sure how this will go. We will see!
